We were so lucky a few weeks ago when a friend suggested we watch Food Matters (it is currently available for streaming on Netflix). One of the things that struck me in the movie was the very, very simple concept:
eat more raw fruits and veggies.
If you haven’t seen the movie, I’d highly recommend it. Watch it with open eyes and an open heart. You may not agree with everything they say, that’s OK, think about the premise that food should not be killing us.
As we begin to make progress on our journey to better health – this seems like a very practical and simple idea. So we’re working on it — at each meal trying to have 51% or better raw foods.
Here’s a meal we had this week with lots of fresh options. Yummy!

Cucumber, cilantro and romaine sandwich on multi grain with a dab of mayo, pimentos, habanero and pesto. Served with xochitl chips, cous cous and freshly made guacamole.
