My dear friend Robbin asked me what the “newer” me would say to the “old” me … after much thought, here is the honest letter I would send to myself.
Dear Michelle 2010,
You don’t know it yet, but you’re about to go through some big changes in your life. Your joke about being fat and healthy simply isn’t completely true. You are fat, but you are not healthy, and it’s not getting better. You may be “healthy enough” but the truth is that if you continue on this destructive eating path, you will develop health problems. Serious ones.
You’ve tried all of your adult life to take off weight and keep it off, it’s never been a “struggle” because you always feel loved no matter what size you are. You are stronger than you know, and it won’t be long until you have to face the facts. It’s not just about you, Toi is in jeopardy, too, and she doesn’t even know it.
I hope that you’ll take me seriously, because I love you and I want you to live a wonderful, healthy and extra special life. There’s more to do … you’ll see …
Love always,
Michelle 2011

WOW! brought tears to my eyes because if the old us could tell us where the pitfalls are we might be better off BUT we wouldn’t learn the hard way an honestly sometimes thats the best way///
Thank you Bec! It would be nice, but I think in our hearts we know. We know that each tiny decision matters, and each one takes us closer to our goal or further away from it. THANKS for the the encouragement. Here’s a hanky!
