Over the summer heat as local produce was more and more sparse, I became rather enchanted with the idea of growing some of my own food – or at least beginning to learn how – so I wouldn’t have the same plight next summer when the Florida growing season ends.
So for now I have the garden started for the Fall / Winter as my practice in gardening. You may have seen posts or comments in the past about the Patio Garden, but now we have 2 boxes to tend to as the Fall wisps into Winter. AND we kinda have a two-fer on this one – we are testing some new growing products, too. You see, since we live in a condo we have no room for these 2 – 4′x4′ raised beds, so we’ve put them down at Mom’s, and even though Mom is nearby, there are days that I just simply may not be able to get by to water them. So we are trying out the Aquabox Spyder Automated Watering Valve – we had to order it all the way from London, but if it works out, we hope to become the first distributor for the Aquabox here in the U.S.
Here are the first shots of the garden. I’ll come back and add in a gallery to show the progress, too.
